Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network

As a charter host church for the Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (GAIHN), John Knox hosts homeless families for one week every 3 months.  Church members donate their time in 2 hour blocks to greet families, serve meals, play games  read stories, or provide conversation.  Our adult Sunday School hall is converted into bedrooms, a living area and a dining room. The focus of this ministry is to keep family units intact during this period of need.  All families who stay at the church are screened before becoming eligible to participate in this ministry. To volunteer with GAIHN or to receive more information, please contact the church office.

Habitat for Humanity

Our church continues a vibrant partnership with Habitat for Humanity.   John Knox has teamed with other churches in building over seven homes to low-income families in Greenville County.   Members are also involved in the local Women Build and Habitat International.  Habitat strives to show the love of Christ by helping others help themselves.  To participate, please contact the church office.

Guatemala Mission Trip

John Knox participates in an annual mission trip to Coban, Guatamala each summer.  Over the past several years, our church has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build homes and an elementary school in this region.  The John Knox team also partners with a work study program designed to provide female students with usable life skills.  Please prayerfully consider going on our next trip or making a donation towards this important mission.  For more information, please contact Lois Bell at lois.bell@charter.net or Joseph Gaston at jgaston@johnknoxpres.org.  Clicke here for the CALT:  Conservation and Agroecology Training website.
